These instructions are somewhat pithy. If you have any questions, we can answer them promptly via email at support@resumefit.com.
- You received an email with your Next Gen Resume™ or Dig-Sig IERS™ attached. OPEN the attachment to review it. If it looks good, proceed to step 2. If you find something that you’d like to change, then DELETE the email and the attachment so that you don’t mistakenly use them, and LOGIN to your IERS™ account to make your changes.
- CLOSE the attachment. RIGHT CLICK on the file name in your email. Select COPY and then go to My Documents (pc users) and the file folder you wish to use to file your Next Gen Resume™ or Dig-Sig IERS™ in. RIGHT CLICK to use the PASTE function. Your Next Gen Resume™ or Dig-Sig IERS™ is now showing and is now ready to be used just like any other resume in MS Word.
- If for some reason you want to change the file name you can do so by RIGHT CLICKING the file name and selecting RENAME. (Don’t know exactly why you’d want to do that, but we want you to know that you can.)
- Do NOT use the Save, Save As… functions while your Next Gen Resume™ or Dig-Sig IERS™ is OPENED. You’ll likely lose the digital signature. If you do lose the digital signature by mistake, DELETE the file and simply return to the email and use the COPY and PASTE functions again. You can’t find the email – simply login to your IERS™ account and request another one to be emailed to you.
A few notes on using your Next Gen Resume™ or Dig-Sig IERS™:
- If you have the recipient’s email address, simply attach your Next Gen Resume™ or Dig-Sig IERS™ like you would any other file.
- If a job board or career portal has an UPLOAD function, then simply browse to your Next Gen Resume™ or Dig-Sig IERS™ to upload it. Try it for example at Yahoo! hotjobs or at Jobster.
-
When there is no upload function, and only a COPY & PASTE of your resume into a text box, then simply COPY & PASTE all of your Next Gen Resume™ or Dig-Sig IERS™ data into the text box provided.
BIG NOTE: The digital signature is destroyed (won’t get transferred with the document) after a Copy & Paste of the data. However, if the employer is interested in you, they can easily view and download the original Next Gen Resume™ or Dig-Sig IERS™ from your Vault. FAIR WARNING: If you changed any of the data, you’ll get caught.
Questions or comments? Use the Feedback form in the IERS™ application or simply email us at support@resumefit.com.
